Trump Victorious In Florida, North Carolina

Trump Victorious In Florida, North Carolina

The National Review reports:

“Donald Trump has won the battle-ground state of Ohio, according to Decision Desk HQ. The independent election-returns analysis service has also called North Carolina and Florida for Trump, two must-win Sun Belt states.

These are huge victories for the Republican candidate, who has managed to push the race to the West. All eyes now will be on Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. If Trump can pick off one of those Democratic-leaning states, his path to 270 is clear. The question is: Can Trump break the so-called Blue Wall?”

REPORT: GOP Projected To Hold On To House Majority

REPORT: GOP Projected To Hold On To House Majority

Republicans are seeking to hold on to their majority on Tuesday as Democrats try to win back control of the House.

Democrats need to net 30 seats to win the majority, a high bar they are not expected to reach.

If the party gains 20 seats, however, it will be seen as a significant victory. And if Republicans can keep Democratic gains to single digits, it would be seen as a victory for them.

Redistricting in favor of the GOP has helped the party pad their majority over the last six years, and has also made it difficult for Democrats to pick off seats.

Democrats further struggled with candidate recruitment in many competitive districts that offered pickup opportunities in a presidential year, when voter turnout is higher.

BREAKING: Widespread Electronic Ballot Issues Reported In Pro-Trump Areas In Michigan

BREAKING: Widespread Electronic Ballot Issues Reported In Pro-Trump Areas In Michigan

The polls have been open in Michigan for a couple hours now, and FOX 2 has received dozens of calls and emails from voters saying the machine at their polling place isn't working correctly. An overwhelming number of voters from several cities report the machine isn't able to accept the ballot, so they've had to leave their ballot in the hands of the volunteers. Many say the machines are malfunctioning or jamming. FOX 2 has taken calls and emails from voters in Detroit, Sterling Heights, Novi, Holly and Roseville - just to name a few.Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey tells FOX 2, "Defective machines will be swapped out. All ballots will be put through and all votes will be tabulated."Many voters are concerned, though, that their vote may not be counted since they won't be there to physically see it go through the machine.

EXIT POLL: Voters Want Strong Leader

EXIT POLL: Voters Want Strong Leader

Voters heading to the polls Tuesday are twice as likely to say they want a president who is a “strong leader” than in 2012, according to Morning Consult/POLITICO exit data. More than one-third (36 percent) of 2016 voters said being a strong leader was the most important quality when picking a president, compared with 18 percent of voters who said the same during 2012 election. It’s an opinion held regardless of partisan leanings: 35 percent of Democrats, 34 percent of independents and 39 percent of Republicans said that was most important. After being a strong leader, voters said having a vision for the future, at 29 percent, was most important. Sixteen percent picked having a candidate share their values and care about people like them, respectively.
